It’s fun to think my raison d’être, and desire to help others be their most beautiful vibrant selves, might have come from my French name. Florence stems from Floreo & Florens, which stem from the Latin verb that means, “I flower” as in blossoming and flourishing. I can honestly say, that my personal areas of development, passion and interests over my lifetime, have all revolved around blossoming and helping others do the same.
I know first hand how much more joy and love I have in life, now that I’ve taken down my barriers and opened myself up more to life and love. Now that I’m clear about what I want, and I am brave enough to say it and go after it. Now that I've learned to let go of “perfectionism” and welcomed “good enough” as my new way of being in this world. Now that I am not so serious and have allowed myself to play and try new things, even if I know that I’m not necessarily going to be good at them. Now that I realize that life can be bittersweet and hard, and so we must orient ourselves towards what we love, and nurture what we treasure, and celebrate what is working. That we must mindfully water our own gardens, and those of whom we love, putting our care and attention on watering the flowers not the weeds in life.
All the branches of my studies and career and hobbies have carried the theme of healing and blossoming. For the past 25 years, I have been passionate about helping people be their most vibrant, healthy, authentic, beautiful selves. Living well, laughing often and loving fully. Whether I am wearing my Marital Family Therapist, Clinical Art Therapist or Coaching hat, it is always an honor to witness someone's transformation, and to be of service. It's so exciting to witness a person living the life they've always wanted personally, romantically, with their family and/or their career.
I look forward to the opportunity to support you as you grow and blossom!
Warmly,
Florence

What I believe...
I believe in your inherent strength, wisdom, resilience, creativity and ability to heal. I believe in your right to have a beautiful life, filled with love, happiness and healthy relationships. I believe that time is precious, that this isn't a dress rehearsal, and that your life is NOW! I believe that it's never too late to live the life you always imagined, and “It’s never too late to be what you might have been" --(George Elliot )
I believe that life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself, and that years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than the things you did. I believe that every day under the sun is a gift. I believe "when one door of happiness closes, another one opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us". --(Helen Keller)
I believe that timing is everything. I believe that most of our experiences in life (positive and negative) were necessary because they brought us to where we are today. I believe that 'perfect' is overrated, and 'good enough' is liberating and actually the recipe for more fun and happiness. I believe that nobody is perfect, but you can find "the one" who is perfect for you. I believe that the body is wise, and informs us of a lot, if we just care to listen.
I believe that happiness is often a choice. I believe that when life knocks us upside down with disappointment, pain or heartbreak, that some of the best ways to get through the suffering is to connect to the beauty and love that surrounds us and to our gratitudes. I believe that resistance is often what makes us suffer. I believe that sometimes the only or best way out, is through.
I believe in celebrating life and treasuring the simple moments. I believe in following the YUM! ...whenever possible choosing that which is delicious and brings you joy!
I believe that the power for change starts from within. I believe in taking responsibility for how we show up in life. I believe that to speak, one has to feel listened to. I believe to grow and blossom, one should feel nurtured and safe. I believe in surrounding yourself with good kind people.
I believe that loving is a verb. I believe that one of the keys to a successful relationship is respecting the differences between one another. I believe in celebrating what we and others do right. I believe in being gentle on our mistakes because it is how we learn. I believe in expressing love and gratitude. I believe in looking for silver linings. I believe in love. I believe that since we only have one body we must be kind to it.
I believe in our ability to grow and change. I believe in watering the flowers not the weeds. I believe the grass is greener where you water it. I believe we should 'fill our heart with what's important and be done with all the rest'.
I believe that the day comes 'when the risk to remain tight in a bud is more painful than the risk it takes to blossom'. ~Anais Nin
I believe in...
The Five Freedoms by Virginia Satir
The FREEDOM to see and hear what is here, instead of what should be, was, or will be.
The FREEDOM to say what you feel and think, instead of what you should.
The FREEDOM to feel what you feel, instead of what you ought.
The FREEDOM to ask for what you want, instead of always waiting for permission.
The FREEDOM to take risks in your own behalf, instead of choosing to be only "secure" and not rocking the boat.
I believe that...
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? ... Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory... that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” --Marianne Williamson
